Part-Time Optometric Technician/Scribe/Optician Premier Eye Center is a thriving private optometry practice located in Shrewsbury, PA. We have been serving patients in the south-central PA and northern MD area for over 20 years, and we are continuing to grow. Most recently, we welcomed a new doctor to our practice. We are seeking an energetic and experienced applicant for a part-time Optometric Technician/Scribe/Optician to join our team. This position will work in tandem with our other two technicians and the doctors to provide our patients with the very best experience possible. The ideal candidate will have a friendly personality that makes patients feel welcome. Candidates should have excellent communication, time management, and organization skills. Additionally, a team-oriented work style, attention to detail, comfort working with numbers, and computer skills are a must. We are only considering candidates with previous experience in the eyecare field, with preference given to those with both technician and optician experience. Doctor:

Auto-refractor, Retinal Photography, Topography, Visual Fields, OCT imaging, Eidon camera retinal imaging, Slit Lamp/External Photography, Meibography, Tear Lab, I-Care Tonometry, MiBo Flo treatments Scribing for

Doctor:

Data entry into OfficeMate/ExamWriter EHR for patient history, examination notes, diagnosis and treatment plan management, plus coding and billing

Contact Lens Training and Follow-up Care:

Insertion and Removal Training for Soft, RGP and Ortho-Keratology Contact Lenses. Assisting with Acuities and Slit Lamp Examination of Contact Lens Fit.

Optical Work:

Optical Sales Ability to speak with patients about lens options and best fit for their lifestyle Frame selection, fitting and dispensing with patients Frame adjustment and repairs

Troubleshooting Other Duties:

Assisting with answering telephone Assisting with patient scheduling and recall Assisting with preparing and filing patient charts Assisting with insurance verification and billing (Vision and Medical Plans) Assisting with accounts receivables/collections Assisting with Frame ordering Assisting with inventory control of spectacles and trial contact lenses Assisting with Lab orders for spectacles and lenses Patient satisfaction Answering inquiries on the phone and in person Working with vendors and reps Understanding of Vision and Medical Insurances Computer Skills a Must Etc. Other miscellaneous office duties will be shared by all staff, i.e. vacuum, dusting, trash.
