Job Description
Barnes Vision is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated full-time Optometric Technician / Front Desk Floater to join our team! This is a versatile position for someone who enjoys variety and working with people. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both the clinical and front office areas of our practice. You will help keep patients moving smoothly through their visits while providing excellent customer service and supporting our doctors and team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the many different aspects of an optometry practice and grow their career in the eye care field. Previous optometry experience is helpful, but not required—we are happy to train the right person! Responsibilities Clinical / Optometric Technician Duties Manage patient flow to provide an exceptional patient experience. Perform paraoptometric duties, including pretesting, reviewing medical history, and preparing patients for their examination. Assist the doctor with clinical and patient-care needs as requested. Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and proper lens care. Assist with contact lens training and follow-up. Assist with IRPL treatments and vision therapy. Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment. Assist with inventory and supply management. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed. Front Desk / Administrative Duties Welcome and assist patients in person and by telephone. Answer questions and direct inquiries appropriately. Schedule and manage patient appointments in person and by telephone. Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the office. Verify medical and vision insurance information. Maintain and update patient demographic, medical, and financial information. Scan and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records. Assist with patient check-in and other front-office responsibilities. Handle phone calls, messages, and other administrative tasks. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow office policies and procedures. Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Who Should Apply? A strong team player who is willing to jump in wherever needed. Comfortable learning new skills and working in different areas of the practice. Able to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day. Comfortable with basic computer skills. Available to work full time during all office hours. Interested in building a career and growing within an established optometry practice. Previous experience in optometry, healthcare, customer service, or an administrative/front-desk position is appreciated, but not required. We are happy to train the right person! Why This Position?
