Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support to our ophthalmologists. You will be responsible for assisting with various clinical tasks, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service during their visits. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, particularly in ophthalmology or related fields, and possess strong communication skills. Responsibilities Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking vital signs and obtaining patient history. Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field testing, OCT's of macula and nerve, lensometry, refracting and utilizing optical systems and equipment. Maintain accurate medical records. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to ensure smooth clinic operations. Provide excellent patient care, addressing any questions or concerns patients may have. Experience Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Knowledge of medical billing practices and procedures is beneficial. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
