$18.50•25.00 per hour (pay is flexible and dependent on experience) About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join a fast-paced, high-volume ophthalmology practice in Nashville. This role is responsible for performing patient workups, assisting with specialized diagnostic testing, and supporting physicians and clinic operations to ensure exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, adaptable, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Perform patient workups, obtain medical histories, and conduct specialized diagnostic testing. Capture diagnostic images for physicians using Optos and Fundus imaging modalities. Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient care. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, stocked exam rooms, equipment, and compliance with EOC guidelines. Provide general clinic support functions to assist physicians and staff. Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed. Support physicians in a fast-paced, high-volume practice environment. Continuously learn and develop skills to assist physicians further, including scribing responsibilities. Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as an Ophthalmology Technician or Optometric Technician preferred. In lieu of ophthalmic experience, candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a medical setting as a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist will be considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients, physicians, management, and staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new software systems. Ability to read, interpret, and understand paper and electronic medical records (EMR). Excellent organizational skills, multitasking ability, and logical thinking skills. Ability to take initiative and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Basic understanding of eye anatomy, medical terminology, ocular pathology, and eye diseases preferred.
