Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist the optometrists by preparing patients for exams, performing preliminary testing, and managing medical records with precision. Your proactive approach will ensure a welcoming environment for patients while supporting the efficient functioning of our optical and ophthalmology services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to eye health and vision wellness. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth intake processes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Conduct preliminary assessments including measuring visual acuity, and performing basic ocular tests using optical and ophthalmic equipment. Assist with patient education by explaining procedures and answering questions about eye health and treatments. Prepare exam rooms by maintaining aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for each appointment. Support the clinical team by managing electronic medical records (EMR systems), updating patient charts accurately, and documenting medical history using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge. Qualifications Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments is highly preferred; familiarity with ophthalmology or optometry is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction, team collaboration, and patient care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times; previous experience in medical coding or billing is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail across multiple responsibilities including pediatrics when applicable. $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
