Position for M-F, 40 hours per week, travel to both locations is required . Prior experience in ophthalmology or retina required. Spanish fluency required.
Job description:
Patient workup: Obtaining patient history, performing basic ophthalmic workup, and administration of eyedrops.
Computer skills:
Must be comfortable with using electronic health record software, and be able to touch type.
Diagnostic testing:
Obtaining OCT, fundus photography, and FA. Ability to safely perform venipunctures (or willingness to learn) is preferred.
Clinical care:
Prepare exam and procedure rooms for patients and assist with in-office procedures. Coordinate patient flow from check-in to check-out.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills required to assist with patient education regarding eye disease, medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures; to coordinate care with referring physicians and staff. Complete patient paperwork, return patient phone calls. Reception and front desk duties as required when not seeing patients. Maintain clinical rooms (cleaning, stocking), housekeeping of clinic, be a team player and participate with others to accomplish tasks, make a positive contribution to morale, seek educational opportunities and accept responsibility for own professional growth and development, other duties as assigned.
