Job Description
Overview:
Bright Eyes Vision is looking for a full-time optometric assistant to join our busy, growing private practice! We focus on the customer experience and believe that the best way to do this is to provide a supportive and encouraging work environment for our team to thrive! We are only open Monday-Friday, so no weekends required! We are looking for a detailed-oriented person with a positive attitude who genuinely enjoys working with people.Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist optometrists with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform preliminary tests and gather patient medical history
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and organized
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist with frame selection and fitting for eyeglasses
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients Experience preferred but not required:
- Previous experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is preferred
- Familiarity with Officemate or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems is a plus
- Knowledge of medical/optical terminology, coding, and billing procedures
- Understanding of optical products and services
- Proficiency in front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out
- Strong math skills for retail transactions involving eyewear sales
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Professional demeanor with the ability to provide exceptional customer service This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has been in retail or any customer service field
