Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Liaison responsible for addressing patient inquiries, coordinating diagnostic procedures, and managing prescription lifecycles. This role includes both technical guidance via telephone and hands-on support during clinic hours. Key Responsibilities Address patient inquiries regarding symptoms, treatment protocols, and medications. Coordinate physician-ordered diagnostics like MRIs, lab work, and angiographies. Secure necessary insurance pre-authorizations and communicate results to patients. Manage prescription lifecycles through electronic and manual platforms. Facilitate outgoing referrals and maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Provide support as an ophthalmic technician and process specialized administrative documentation. Qualifications High school diploma 1+ years of experience in a front office or back office role 1+ year of MA experience Experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred Knowledge of eye anatomy, testing, and disease terminology Strong data entry skills Skills Technical skills: Knowledge of eye anatomy, testing, and disease terminology Soft skills: Strong data entry skills
Preferred:
Medical Assistant certification, Bilingual in English or Spanish Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
