If you have an interest in medical administration areas like insurance billing and coding, office management, or medical credentialing, or if you're seeking a 30-35 hour work week in a congenial and upbeat setting, this role might be perfect for you. This position offers significant on-the-job training across the spectrum of medical office administration. Our past employees have leveraged 2-4 years in this role, coupled with drive and ambition, to lay the groundwork for a rewarding, long-term career in medical administration. In this role, you'll gain foundational knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling appointments, managing EHR (electronic health records), patient interaction, and conducting basic optometry pre-tests. As you progress, you'll learn about insurance processes, including Medicare and Medicaid, verifying insurance benefits, filing claims with accurate diagnostic and procedure codes, claim adjustments, provider credentialing, and other valuable skills and knowledge. This position has the following set schedule (of course arrangements can be made in advance for any special circumstances): Wednesday-Saturday from 10am to 6pm (5pm on Saturdays, lunch 1-2pm each day).
Responsibilities:
Answer phone/handle faxes Making appointments Verification of insurance / filing claims Performing basic pre-tests Data entry / electronic medical records management Other office duties as required Ensure 5-Star service for all patients! ​
Qualifications:
Reliable (including reliable transportation) Desire and willingness to learn Responsible Friendly Previous experience is not required, we provide paid training. Fluent in Spanish is a plus but definitely not a requirement.
