Job Description
Virginia Ophthalmology Associates is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our dedicated team. We welcome technicians who are eager to expand their knowledge and gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and positive patient experience. Perform preliminary tests, including visual acuity measurements, patient histories, manual refractions, tonometry, and lensometry. Conduct slit lamp examinations and other diagnostic assessments as directed. Accurately document patient information and maintain thorough medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye care, medications, and follow-up procedures. Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to maintain efficient operations and deliver exceptional patient care. Requirements Proven experience as an ophthalmic technician or similar clinical role. Proficiency in manual refraction, tonometry, lensometry, and slit lamp exams. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Working knowledge of eye anatomy, common ocular diseases, and ophthalmic medications.
