Optometric Technician - Training Provided We are seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a full-time optometric technician . In this position, you will work closely with our doctors and clinical team to provide excellent patient care throughout the eye-examination process. Optometric technicians collect patient histories, perform preliminary vision and eye-health testing, document information accurately, and help prepare patients for their examination with the doctor. They may also assist with contact-lens fittings, patient education and specialized diagnostic testing. Previous eye-care experience is not required. We will provide hands-on training for the right candidate. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, learns quickly, remains organized in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing outstanding patient service. Responsibilities Welcome patients and prepare them for their examinations Collect and accurately document medical histories, medications and current vision concerns Perform preliminary vision and eye-health testing Assist with specialized testing and diagnostic equipment Support doctors during the patient examination process Assist with contact-lens fittings and patient education Prepare, clean and organize examination rooms and equipment Maintain accurate and complete patient records Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the practice Provide excellent patient service and help address patient concerns Work with doctors, managers and team members to support efficient daily operations Skills and Qualifications Dependable, self-motivated and willing to learn Friendly and comfortable working directly with patients Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and customer-service skills Careful attention to detail and accuracy Able to remain focused during busy clinic schedules Able to follow established procedures and accept coaching Able to work collaboratively with doctors, managers and team members Reliable attendance and punctuality Previous medical-office or patient-care experience is helpful but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to move between examination rooms throughout the workday Ability to lift at least 10 pounds when needed Position Details Job type:
