Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Frame Sales Contact Lens Fit Answer Phone Specialist to join our optical team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and clients seeking assistance with contact lens fittings, specifically related to frame sales and contact lens inquiries. Your energetic approach will ensure exceptional customer service, guiding callers through their questions about contact lens options, fittings, and frame selections while adhering to healthcare regulations and confidentiality policies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine retail sales expertise with clinical knowledge in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, providing detailed information on contact lens fitting procedures, frame options, and related optical services. Assist patients in scheduling appointments for contact lens fittings and frame consultations, ensuring efficient clinic flow. Communicate effectively with patients regarding medical terminology, anatomy of the eye, and physiology to support informed decision-making. Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and clinical confidentiality policies. Collaborate with optometrists and optical staff to relay patient needs and ensure seamless service delivery. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms to document patient details accurately. Support retail sales efforts by advising on frames and lenses that meet individual needs while promoting store products responsibly. Qualifications Prior experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or retail optometry is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and health regulation policies relevant to eye care. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical billing, coding, and medical records management. Experience with optical POS systems, EMR systems like Epic or similar platforms, and laboratory procedures is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and empathetically. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining clinical confidentiality standards. Retail sales experience combined with knowledge of optics and vital signs measurement enhances success in this role.
