Job Summary:
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with exceptional communication and customer service skills to join our team as an Optometric Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator. While optometric experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and a caring, friendly personality.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Interaction:
Greet patients warmly and ensure they feel comfortable. Obtain patient histories, perform preliminary patient testing, prepare patients for vision examinations, and setting up testing equipment.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule and confirm appointments. Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and inform patients of co-payments. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and assist with data entry.
Optical Support:
Assist patients with frame selection, dispensing, adjustments, and minor repairs. Manage inventory and maintain cleanliness in the optical area.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required). Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. A positive attitude, professional appearance, and caring personality. Prior experience in optometry or healthcare is a plus but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Flexibility with work schedules; candidates with availability across listed days will be given higher consideration. Experience as an optician or prior work in an optometric practice is highly prioritized
Work Schedule:
Part-time position with potential for full-time based on performance
Office Hours:
Mondays, Thursdays, & Fridays:
9:00 AM-5:30
PM Tuesdays:
11:00 AM-6:30
PM Wednesdays & Saturdays:
9:00 AM-3:30

Starting pay/salary is dependent on skill level and experience in the field of optometry. How to
