Job Description Our well-established optometry practice in San Jose is seeking a friendly, motivated Optical Specialist to join our team. With over 40 years of serving the community, our office is dedicated to providing exceptional vision care, eye health services, and a high level of patient experience. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who enjoys working with patients, thrives in a team environment, and can comfortably handle a variety of responsibilities throughout the day. Experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred, but we are open to training the right candidate with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. This position offers a flexible schedule. Hours may vary based on office needs and patient flow, typically ranging from part-time to near full-time. Candidates who are comfortable with some variability in weekly hours will be the best fit. Opportunities for increased hours may become available over time. Key Responsibilities Perform preliminary testing to support patient care Assist patients with frame selection and styling Dispense eyewear and perform adjustments/repairs Process and bill eyewear orders Verify daily eyewear and contact lens orders Assist with contact lens-related tasks Support general office operations as needed Qualifications Optical or healthcare experience preferred (not required) Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented, dependable, and a quick learner Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Additional Information Benefits may be available for long-term, regularly scheduled team members Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on office needs
