The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional optical and vision care services, and managing optical products. This role requires a strong understanding of optometric procedures, and retail sales within an ophthalmic setting. The Optician will collaborate with optometrists, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. Duties Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses based on prescriptions and individual needs Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame sizing Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EPM and EHR platforms to document patient interactions and prescription. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as lens mounting, repairs and quality checks Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality according to HIPAA standards Assist in retail sales of eyewear products while providing excellent customer service in a retail environment Requirements Prior optical experience: familiarity with optical equipment is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy Ability to perform retail sales effectively while maintaining professional integrity Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail Experience working with pediatrics or senior care populations is advantageous This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to improving patients' vision health through expert optical care.
