In this energetic role, you will guide clients through their eyewear journey, from selecting stylish frames to ensuring perfect fits and optimal vision correction. You'll leverage your knowledge of optical products, medical terminology, and health regulations to deliver personalized solutions that enhance our customers' lives. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all patients are receiving the best quality of care at all times.
Primary responsibilities include:
Review Physician's prescriptions and orders based on medical charts Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences with a basic understanding of lens fundamentals. Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients' specific needs and desires Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety Measure and fit eyeglasses properly. Perform basic adjustments and repairs of eyewear. Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits Experience & Skills Excellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical to this role. Full-time (FT)Exemption:
Non-exempt Requirements Prior retail optometry or optical experience with knowledge of eyewear fitting, dispensing, and adjustment techniques. Familiarity with ophthalmology principles, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, and basic math skills for accurate measurements. Understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, clinical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare regulations related to eye care. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms for managing patient records. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical terminology clearly and professionally. Laboratory experience in optics or optical laboratory processes is highly desirable. Ability to operate POS systems efficiently while demonstrating attention to detail in cash register operations.
