This is a patient-care role, not a management position, and may be a strong fit for either a newly licensed optician or an experienced optician who wants to focus on excellent care in a collaborative private-practice setting. About the Role The Licensed Optician helps patients select eyewear that fits their prescription, lifestyle, personality, and budget. - Verify prescriptions and optical orders; place, track, receive, and follow up on orders.
- Support smooth exam-to-optical handoffs and communicate with labs, vendors, doctors, and teammates as needed.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, patient-ready boutique optical space. What We're Looking For
- Active Connecticut Licensed Optician credential.
- Newly licensed and experienced opticians are encouraged to apply.
- Warm, outgoing, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working directly with patients.
- Strong communication, service, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in quality eyewear, lens technology, and personalized patient care.
- Comfortable in a team-based private practice; sales experience is helpful, but a patient-first approach is most important. Why Join OculusDocs?
- Private practice setting with a strong local reputation and long-term patient relationships.
- Boutique optical environment with quality eyewear and lens options.
- Patient-centered culture.
- Supportive environment for newly licensed opticians and a refreshing non-management role for experienced opticians.
- Team culture that values kindness, professionalism, education, and excellent service.
