Job Overview Join our healthcare team as an Optician, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services and eyewear solutions. In this energetic position, you'll assist patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, dispense spectacles accurately, and ensure compliance with health regulation policies. Your expertise in optics, medical terminology, and laboratory procedures will contribute to providing top-tier patient care while supporting retail operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to blend clinical knowledge with retail sales skills in a fast-paced environment committed to improving vision in our community. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear frames and lenses based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences. Dispense spectacles with precision, including eyewear fittings and frame adjustments to ensure comfort and optimal vision correction. Conduct basic eye assessments to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Manage retail sales transactions using POS systems, including medical billing processes aligned with health regulation policies. Maintain accurate medical records within EMR/EHR systems, ensuring clinical confidentiality policies are upheld. Educate patients on optical products, medical terminology related to optometry, and proper eyewear care to enhance customer service experience. Experience Prior retail optometry or optical experience, demonstrating familiarity with spectacle lens dispensing and eyewear fittings is beneficial but not required. Experience working within healthcare environments that adhere to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare regulations. Proven ability to operate POS systems and EMR/EHR platforms. Strong customer service skills combined with retail experience or retail sales background to foster positive patient interactions. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, clinic experience, and medical billing practices is advantageous. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining high standards of clinical confidentiality policies. $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
