Optician

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences
• Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear
• Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame styles that best suit their needs
• Process orders for eyewear, including verifying insurance coverage and handling medical billing
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records for each customer
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or issues related to eyewear
• Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment
• Stay up-to-date with current trends in eyewear fashion and technology

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail management or customer service is preferred
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance verification is a plus
• Familiarity with Crystal or other electronic medical record systems is beneficial
• Understanding of retail math concepts for pricing and inventory management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
• Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dispensing area Please note that this job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
