Job Description

Summit Eyecare is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Optical & Front Desk Specialist to join our Rexburg team. This is a dual-role position that combines exceptional patient service at the front desk with helping patients find the perfect eyewear after their exam. No optical experience? That's okay! We are happy to train the right person. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent customer service skills, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do As an Optical & Front Desk Specialist, you'll play an important role in creating an outstanding patient experience from the moment a patient walks through our doors until they leave with confidence in their vision care. Front Desk Responsibilities Welcome patients with a friendly and professional attitude. Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling appointments. Verify vision and medical insurance benefits. Check patients in and out for appointments. Collect copays and process payments. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members. Optical Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their lifestyle, vision needs, and budget. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and products. Maximize patients' insurance benefits while providing personalized recommendations. Adjust, repair, and fit eyewear for patient comfort. Take accurate frame and lens measurements. Assist with eyewear orders, inventory, and merchandising. Help maintain an attractive, organized optical gallery. We're Looking For Someone Who Is Friendly, positive, and patient-focused. Professional with excellent communication skills. Organized and able to multitask in a busy environment. Comfortable learning new technology and computer systems. Detail-oriented and dependable. A team player with a willingness to learn and grow. Passionate about providing exceptional customer service. Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service or receptionist experience. Optical experience is a plus but not required —we provide training.
