Job Description

Optician / Optometric Technician We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and patient-focused Optician / Optometric Technician to join our team. This role combines both optical and clinical responsibilities, allowing the right candidate to play an important part in the patient experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about helping patients see and feel their best. Responsibilities include assisting patients with eyewear selection, performing pretesting and patient workups, gathering medical history, and supporting our doctors throughout the patient visit. Optical experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical / Technician Duties Welcome patients and prepare them for their exam Obtain patient medical history and reason for visit Perform pretesting procedures and diagnostic imaging Assist doctors with patient flow and exam preparation Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records Optical Duties Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and lens options that fit their vision needs and personal style Educate patients on lens technologies, coatings, and contact lens options Take accurate measurements for proper lens placement and frame fit Process optical orders and assist with insurance billing and claims Perform adjustments, fittings, and basic repairs on eyewear Assist with contact lens ordering and training Maintain clean, organized, and attractive optical displays
Qualifications:
Strong customer service and communication skills Friendly, team-oriented attitude Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and willingness to learn Optical or medical office experience preferred, but not required We are proud to provide a welcoming, hometown atmosphere where patients feel cared for like family, and we are looking for someone who shares that same passion for exceptional patient care.
