POSITION SUMMARY
The Optician will work collaboratively with patients to design, measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for their needs according to written optical prescription or specification. Will prepare work order for optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames and verify the exactness of finished lens spectacles. The optician will assist patients with selecting frames and/or inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses. QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma/ GED Experience:
3 years' experience as an opticianLicensure/ Certification:
Obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Optician certification within 2 years of hire dateOther Skills/ Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Able to facilitate groups, address conflict, establish partnerships, provide consultations to stakeholder, managers, director, and administrator. Ability to be self-directed.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
