OPTOMETRY
(BL-OPT-IUBLA) Job Summary Assists patients with frame selection, dispensing, repairs, and adjustments. Prepares lens and frame orders for patients, utilizing knowledge of insurance benefits and discounts. Assists across functional areas to ensure the timely and successful delivery solutions according to patient needs. Evaluates finished product ensuring it meets specifications; recommends improvements in policies and procedures; prepares lenses for delivery. Maintains inventory of supplies; monitors and reorders as necessary; responds to emails, credits and invoices. Provides guidance and direction to temporary employees and optometry students regarding lens verification, repairs, dispensing, patient concerns, and ordering. Qualifications
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) and 2 years of optometry or relevant experience. OR Associate's degree in optical/medical field. SKILLS Required Experience in a regulated environment Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Strong verbal communication and listening skills Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback Possesses strong technical aptitude Working Conditions / Demands This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
