Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our growing optometry practice. We are willing to provide on the job training to the right entry level candidate. Individual must be eager to learn and must feel comfortable working with the public. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care by assisting with eyewear selection, fitting, and adjustments. You will work closely with patients to ensure they receive the best optical solutions tailored to their needs. This position requires a strong understanding of optical products, attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting the appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper fit and comfort. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and eyewear prescriptions. Educate patients on the use and care of their eyewear, including contact lens hygiene. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care. Manage inventory of eyewear products and supplies, ensuring availability for patient needs. Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical records management. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing any patient inquiries or concerns. Assisting others in the office. Qualifications Previous experience in retail management or sales is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is beneficial. Understanding of physiology as it relates to vision and eye health is advantageous. Experience working in a clinic setting is desirable. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care while adhering to safety protocols.
