This dual-role position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by welcoming patients, managing front desk operations, assisting with patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and supporting optical sales and dispensing. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong organizational skills, and can balance administrative and optical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Front Desk & Patient Services Greet and check patients in for appointments. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments. Maintain accurate patient records Collect copays, balances, and payments at check-out. Process receipts and maintain accurate daily financial records. Assist with patient intake forms and documentation. Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming. Optician Duties Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens options based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Educate patients on lens products, coatings, and eyewear options. Measure pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and other optical measurements. Submit and track eyewear orders with laboratories and vendors. Dispense, adjust, repair, and fit eyewear to ensure patient satisfaction. Troubleshoot issues related to eyewear fit, comfort, and vision concerns. Maintain optical inventory and display merchandise. Follow up with patients regarding completed eyewear orders and special requests. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical office, optometry, ophthalmology, retail optical, or customer service experience preferred. Optician experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
