Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services and enhancing patient satisfaction. In this energetic position, you'll assist patients in selecting eyewear, ensure accurate measurements, and support clinical staff with vital procedures. Your expertise will contribute to improving vision health while providing a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in optical care, medical terminology, and patient management within a fast-paced clinic setting. Responsibilities Assist patients in choosing appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences Take precise measurements of pupils, frames, and lenses to ensure optimal fit and vision correction Support optometrist with clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs and conducting basic eye assessments Maintain accurate medical records, including optical prescriptions, medical history, and billing information using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions and documentation processes Manage retail sales of eyewear products, including inventory management. Support laboratory processes by assisting with lens fitting and adjustments. Skills knowledge of ophthalmology principles, and medical terminology relevant to eye care Excellent communication skills for explaining technical information clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior care understand medical coding for billing purposes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times Basic understanding of medical billing processes and medical records management within a clinical environment
Pay:
$16.00 - $25.00 per hour
