Primary duties require a friendly demeanor for assisting patients during check in and check out. Additional duties include scheduling appointments and helping patients with insurance eligibility. Secondary duties will include styling patients with the appropriate eyewear, ordering, adjusting and fixing frames. Willing to train the right candidate.

Schedule:
5 and 1/2 hour shift most days Supplemental pay types: Commission pay No weekends or late evenings. Summary As an Optical Assistant, you will be integral to providing exceptional customer service and support in a retail optical environment. Reporting to the Optometrist or Optical Manager, your core skills in retail sales, medical terminology, and optical experience will enable you to assist customers with their eyewear needs. Your premium knowledge in ophthalmology and HIPAA compliance will ensure a high standard of care. Additionally, your relevant skills in EMR systems and medical billing will enhance operational efficiency, making you a vital part of our team dedicated to improving patients' visual health. Qualifications Retail sales experience in an optical setting Knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to vision Familiarity with medical terminology and coding Ability to take and interpret vital signs Experience with EMR systems and medical records management Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality Preferred experience in ophthalmology and pediatrics Strong communication and customer service skills
