Job Description

Mercy is seeking a compassionate Optician to join our patient-centered eye care team. In this on-site role, you will guide patients in selecting frames and lenses, perform precise measurements and fittings, and ensure prescriptions are filled accurately. You'll collaborate closely with eye care providers, operate optical equipment, and document care in EHR systems. Responsibilities Greet patients and review optical prescriptions for accuracy and completeness. Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and budget. Perform measurements, fittings, and adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and vision. Operate optical equipment for basic vision assessments and lens verification. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care. Maintain accurate documentation in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance. Coordinate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to clarify prescriptions and care plans. Manage optical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and merchandising frames and lenses. Perform minor repairs and adjustments on eyeglasses. Support Mercy's culture of compassionate, patient-centered care and teamwork.
