Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Scribe to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the optometric practice by assisting with patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to provide exceptional service to our patients. Duties Assist optometrists in conducting eye examinations and various diagnostic tests. Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical histories and performing preliminary tests. Operate and maintain optometric equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly. Educate patients on proper contact lens care, eyewear options, and post-examination procedures. Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate documentation. Collaborate with the optometric team to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues as they arise. Qualifications Previous experience as an optometric technician, scribe, or in a related healthcare field is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
