Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented person to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the doctor during the exams. You would also help patient's with their eyewear needs, including the fitting and dispensing of glasses and contact lenses. This role requires the ability to multi task and be able to think on your feet. Duties Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Measure patients' eyes to ensure proper fit for glasses and contact lenses. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage. Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with optometrist to ensure comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on advancements in optical technology and products. Answer phones and schedule patients. Would be pre-screening patients before seeing the optometrist. Requirements Previous experience or in a related field is preferred, but not necessary. Will have on the job training. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations is essential. Familiarity with optical systems and laboratory processes is advantageous. Experience with electronic health record systems. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including those in senior care settings. Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
