This energetic position combines technical expertise with outstanding customer service, ensuring patients receive personalized care and high-quality optical products. You will assist in frame fittings, lens dispensing, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to all health regulation policies. Duties Assist patients in selecting eyewear by providing expert advice on frames, lenses, and optical options based on individual needs and preferences Dispense spectacles accurately by measuring pupillary distance, fitting frames, and adjusting eyewear for comfort and optimal vision Conduct basic eye assessments including visual acuity tests to support ophthalmology evaluations Manage patient medical records using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies Process transactions at the point of sale (POS) systems, including cash register operations and billing using medical coding standards Educate patients on proper eyewear maintenance, eye health practices, and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacyExperience Prior retail optometry experience is preferred, but not required. Willing to train the perfect candidates Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care clients Competence in optical procedures such as spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments. Basic math skills for prescription calculations, retail math for sales transactions, and understanding of medical billing processes.
