Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Optician, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patients' vision and overall eye health. In this energetic and patient-focused position, you will assist customers in selecting the perfect eyewear, ensure accurate measurements, and provide expert guidance on lens options and frame styles. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment that combines retail sales excellence with comprehensive optical care. You will also support clinical staff by managing medical records, assisting with laboratory procedures, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your optical experience while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Assist patients in selecting eyewear by understanding their needs, preferences, and lifestyle to recommend suitable frames and lenses Take precise measurements for fittings, including pupillary distance, frame size, and lens prescriptions Ensure all optical products meet quality standards through laboratory experience and proper inspection techniques Educate patients on lens options, including coatings, tints, and specialty lenses for pediatrics or senior care Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Officemate, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Support clinical staff by performing vital signs assessments when necessary and assisting with basic ophthalmology procedures Manage retail sales transactions while applying retail math skills to meet sales goals and optimize inventory management Uphold aseptic techniques during any laboratory or clinical procedures to maintain a sterile environment Assist with medical billing and coding processes related to optical services and patient visits Provide exceptional customer service to foster long-term patient relationships and promote retail sales of eyewear products Experience Valid state licensure as a Licensed Optician with comprehensive knowledge of ophthalmology practices Proven experience working in optical retail environments with strong retail sales skills Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to lens fabrication and quality control Experience using EMR systems such as Officemate or similar platforms for managing medical records Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and medical coding practices Prior clinic experience involving pediatric or senior care populations is highly desirable Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines ensuring patient confidentiality at all times Demonstrated understanding of medical billing processes related to optical services Strong communication skills for collaborating with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals Join us in delivering exceptional eye care through a combination of technical expertise, compassionate service, and innovative retail solutions. Pay:
$28.08 - $33.81 per hour
