This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying busy, and learning different areas of a medical office. Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, collecting payments, assisting with optical sales and contact lens orders, and helping with basic pre-testing when needed. Prior medical office or optical experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, motivated to learn, comfortable with technology, and provides excellent customer service. Responsibilities Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient questions. Greet patients and manage the check-in and check-out process. Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments. Update patient information and assist with insurance verification. Maintain accurate information in the electronic health record system. Help patients select eyewear and provide friendly, professional optical customer service. Process eyewear purchases and assist with ordering and tracking glasses. Order contact lenses and communicate with patients about orders and pickup. Perform basic pre-testing after training, as needed. Help maintain clean, organized front desk, optical, and patient care areas. Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements. Assist with other office responsibilities as needed in a small, team-oriented practice. Qualifications Excellent customer service and communication skills. Dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented. Friendly and professional with patients of all ages. Comfortable answering phones, using computers, and learning new technology. Able to multitask and adapt to different responsibilities throughout the day. Comfortable providing retail customer service. Previous customer service, retail sales, medical office, optometry, or optical experience is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. What We're Looking For We are a small, growing practice looking for someone who takes initiative, notices what needs to be done, and is willing to help wherever needed. Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
