Job Description

River View Family Eyecare is searching for our next fantastic team member! We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, a friendly personality, a desire to learn and grow with our practice for years to come, and an individual who has a genuine interest in helping our patients and colleagues in a team-oriented environment. Time management and a desire to work autonomously is especially important. Experience working as an optician in an optometry or ophthalmology office is preferred. This position is full time at around 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Wednesday is a short day, ending at 1:00 PM. Please email BOTH a compelling cover letter and a CV. Some duties may include (but are not limited to) : Assisting patients in optical with frame selections. Educating patients on high end eyewear, spectacle lens designs, materials and treatments. Fitting patients in glasses and taking all lens measurements. Adjusting, repairing and cleaning glasses. Verifying glasses prescriptions, including prism, using a manual lensometer. Greeting patients in a professional and friendly manner, determining nature and purpose of visit, and directing or escorting them to specific destinations. Dispensing eyewear. Accurately submitting optical orders to the lab. Maintaining education on latest frame and lens technologies. Operating multi-line telephones to answer, screen, and forward calls; providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments. Hearing and resolving complaints from patients and customers. Performing various administrative support tasks. Receiving payment and recording receipts for services. Contact lens ordering.
