Job Description

About Us We are a boutique, independent optometry practice dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality eye care to our community. Unlike big-box retail opticals, we focus on building lasting relationships with our patients in a warm, collaborative, and low-stress environment. If you love fashion, customer service, and clinical precision, you'll fit right in! Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optician to join our small, close-knit team. In this role, you will guide patients through selecting the perfect eyewear, take precise measurements, and handle adjustments and repairs. Because we are a small office, you will also assist with front-desk duties (scheduling, answering phones, and verifying insurance) as needed. What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Style & Style Support:
Help patients select frames and lens options that fit their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style.
Measurements & Fittings:
Take accurate optical measurements (PD, segment height) and adjust/repair eyewear for a custom fit.
Lab Operations:
Insert and align lenses, place orders with optical labs, and inspect incoming jobs for quality and accuracy.
Patient Education:
Clearly explain lens features (anti-reflective coatings, progressives, blue-light filters) and contact lens care.
Small Office Teamwork:
Assist with front-desk tasks, including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying vision/medical insurance. What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
Experience:
1+ years of optical experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with strong retail or high-end customer service experience.
Certification:
ABO certification is a plus, but not required.
Bilingual:
Fluent in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, a keen eye for fashion/style, and basic computer proficiency.
Attributes:
A warm, patient-first attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-team environment.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) Employee discount Paid time off
Language:
Spanish (Preferred)
Work Location:
