Job Description

Cascade Eye Center is looking for a personable and professional individual to join our team! Our busy optical department features over 1,000 frames and serves clientele of all ages. Prior relevant experience preferred, but will train the right candidate!
Job Summary:
Our opticians work as part of our healthcare professional team, ensuring patients receive the best possible vision correction solutions. Duties The optician position includes, but is not limited to:
  • Reviewing and interpreting prescriptions written by our Optometrists and Ophthalmologist.
  • Making personal product recommendations based on patient's lifestyle and vision needs.
  • Taking accurate measurements needed for frame and lens ordering.
  • Dispensing, adjusting, and repairing eyeglasses.
  • Contact lens insertion and removal training.
  • Educating patients on how to care for their new eyeglasses and contact lenses.
  • Managing inventory and maintaining customer records.
  • Enthusiasm for learning about and clearly communicating information about frame and lens materials and options.
  • Understanding of vision insurance plans and ability to explain coverage for glasses and contact lenses.
  • Ability to manage time spent with patients and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly express information in spoken or written form.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service is a must!
