In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist patients in selecting the perfect eyewear, ensure accurate measurements, and provide exceptional customer service. Your expertise will support the optometry clinic and retail optical settings by combining technical skills with compassionate care. Duties Assist patients in choosing eyewear that suits their prescription, style preferences, and lifestyle needs Take precise measurements of pupillary distance, frame fit, and lens prescriptions to ensure optimal vision correction Prepare and verify medical records, including optical prescriptions, medical history, and billing information using electronic medical record (EMR) system (Compulink) Maintain a clean, sterile environment by following aseptic techniques during lens fitting and adjustments Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens usage, and available vision correction options Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmic principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical terminology Experience with optical equipment, laboratory procedures, and medical coding related to eye care services Proficiency in EMR systems such as Compulink or comparable electronic health record platforms Retail sales experience combined with retail math skills to manage inventory and process transactions efficiently Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior care populations Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Knowledge of medical billing processes related to optical services and insurance claims processing Embark on a fulfilling career where your technical expertise meets compassionate patient care.
