Optician (40 hrs)(Temple Faculty Practices)

Fits patients with eyeglasses in the optical shop. Administers, analyzes, and interprets prescriptions written by ophthalmologist or optometrist. Takes eye measurements to ensure proper lens placement in eyeglass frame. Verify accuracy of the finished product. May manufacture lenses from raw materials and fit to frame, determine which eyeglasses are best suited to meet patient needs. Handles inventory control, provide assistance with insurance re-imbursement. Ensures compliance with regulatory and billing procedures. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience 2 years experience in a related role Preferred Licenses Board Certification Required
