Our quickly growing practice is hiring! Scasta Family Eye Care is searching for a person of excellence to join our team as an ophthalmic assistant/optician. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train. This position requires someone who excels in top-notch customer service, organization, multitasking, and attention to detail. Duties include greeting patients promptly with a smile, performing preliminary testing, scribing for and assisting the doctor, and creating a "wow" experience for our patients by anticipating their needs and taking initiative to meet them. Our office prides itself on maintaining an exceptional level of customer service and excellence in eye care that sets our practice apart. Applicants must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Only serious applicants need apply. Job Duties Perform visual acuity testing, blood pressure checks, patient history intake, and preliminary workups Assist with contact lens dispensing and training Perform over-refractions Conduct contact lens follow-up visits Optical Responsibilities Assist patients with selecting eyewear based on the optometrist's prescription and individual needs Educate patients on different lens materials and options Repair, fit, and adjust glasses Manage optical lab inventory by keeping the lab organized, tracking optical orders, and checking in eyeglasses and contact lenses Verify vision insurance and bill patients accordingly Administrative Responsibilities Greet and welcome incoming patients Call patients with testing results, optical order updates, follow-up appointment needs, and reminders for upcoming visits Order contact lens trials and annual supplies Maintain a clean, fully stocked, and welcoming waiting area and exam rooms Assist patients or potential customers browsing the optical area and direct them to an optician Call in prescriptions All training will be provided.
