The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an Optician, you will be responsible for fitting, adjusting, edging lenses, repairing glasses, and dispensing eyewear, while also ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service and care. Your expertise in optical products and customer service will contribute to the overall satisfaction of our clients. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs. Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper fit and comfort. Edging lenses and installing lenses into patients frames when needed. Educate patients on the proper care and use of their eyewear. Maintain accurate patient records, including prescriptions and insurance information, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eye care. Handle billing processes related to optical services. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly. Skills Strong knowledge of optical products and edging lenses, including info on different lenses, frames, and contact lenses. Experience in a clinical or retail setting related to eye care or optical services. Understanding of physiology as it relates to vision care. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Attention to detail for accurate fittings and adjustments. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
