Our team delivers personalized solutions to enhance vision, style, and overall eye health for our diverse patient community. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and sales-driven Optician Optical Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must excel in selling luxury eyewear, possess a deep and comprehensive understanding of vision and medical insurance, and be confident in handling all aspects of the optical sales process. This role requires expertise in insurance verification, claims filing, frame styling, and troubleshooting eyewear, while delivering an elevated, concierge-level patient experience. Duties Drive sales of luxury eyewear by confidently presenting high-end frames and lenses tailored to each patient's prescription, lifestyle, and personal style. Verify vision and medical insurance benefits accurately and efficiently prior to patient appointments. Process and file vision and medical insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation and timely reimbursement. Assist patients in selecting frames with a strong emphasis on face shape, fashion trends, and premium product knowledge. Perform precise optical measurements including pupillary distance, segment height, and frame adjustments for optimal fit and vision correction. Troubleshoot eyewear issues, including fit, comfort, and lens concerns, providing effective solutions and adjustments. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within EMR systems such as Crystal EHR. Coordinate with laboratories for lens ordering, remakes, and quality control to ensure the highest standards in eyewear fabrication. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, eyewear care, and contact lens usage. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation. Collaborate with clinical staff and providers to support seamless patient care across all age groups. Maintain a polished, organized, and high-end optical retail environment. Skills Proven ability to sell luxury eyewear and consistently meet or exceed sales goals. Advanced knowledge of vision and medical insurance, including verification, billing, and claims processing. Strong expertise in frame styling, lens options, and personalized eyewear consultations. Proficiency in troubleshooting and adjusting glasses for fit, comfort, and visual performance. Solid understanding of ophthalmology concepts, anatomy, physiology, and optical terminology. Experience with EMR systems such as Crystal EHR or similar platforms. Knowledge of optical lab processes, lens ordering, and quality assurance. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a polished, professional demeanor. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards. Ability to work with a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and seniors.
