Silo EyeCare is a brand-new, privately owned optometry practice opening in September 2026 , and we're looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and patient-focused Optician to join our founding team. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a practice from the ground up. We're hiring before our grand opening so our team can train together, establish workflows, and create an exceptional patient experience from day one. Position Summary The Optician / Optical Sales Associate is responsible for guiding patients through the eyewear selection process, ensuring accurate frame and lens recommendations, and delivering an exceptional optical experience. This role combines technical optical knowledge, fashion, customer service, and attention to detail. You will work closely with the doctor and clinical team to help patients understand their prescriptions and choose eyewear that best meets their visual needs. Responsibilities Patient Care & Optical Sales Welcome patients into the optical and provide exceptional customer service. Assist patients in selecting frames that complement their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style. Educate patients on lens options including: Anti-reflective coatings Blue light filtering lenses Progressive lenses Photochromic lenses Polarized sunglasses Occupational lenses High-index lenses Explain vision insurance benefits and available lens options. Help patients make informed purchasing decisions without pressure. Deliver a personalized and enjoyable shopping experience. Optical Responsibilities Interpret eyeglass prescriptions accurately. Take precise frame and facial measurements including: Pupillary Distance (PD) Optical Center Height Segment Height Verify completed eyewear for accuracy before dispensing. Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs. Troubleshoot patient concerns regarding comfort and vision. Coordinate with optical laboratories on orders and remakes. Dispense glasses and educate patients on proper care and maintenance. Inventory & Office Support Maintain an attractive, organized optical display. Assist with inventory management and frame merchandising. Receive and inspect incoming frame and lens orders. Maintain accurate patient and order records. Support front office or clinical team as needed. Help keep the office clean, organized, and welcoming.
