Tacoma Eye at Westgate is seeking a full-time experienced Optician to join our growing team in Tacoma, Washington. Since opening in 2018, Tacoma Eye at Westgate has experienced tremendous growth and has become one of the area's most trusted independent eye care practices. TUES THRU SATURDAY
Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens enhancements that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style Accurately interpret eyeglass prescriptions and recommend appropriate lens designs Perform optical measurements including pupillary distance, segment heights, and frame fitting measurements Educate patients on essilor and crizal lens options, coatings, sunglasses, and specialty eyewear products Dispense, adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear Verify and quality-check completed eyewear orders before delivery Process eyewear orders and communicate with optical laboratories Discuss insurance benefits and help patients maximize their vision benefits Maintain accurate patient records and order documentation Assist with frame inventory management, merchandising, and optical displays Build lasting patient relationships through exceptional service and follow-up care What We Are Looking For Prior optical experience required; ABO certification. current WA state LDO licensure Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame fitting, and optical measurements contact lens fitting, adjustment. Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong sales ability with a consultative, patient-centered approach Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Passion for helping patients achieve their best vision and eyewear experience Why Tacoma Eye at Westgate?
