Our team values personalized care, and we are looking for a friendly and motivated Optician to help provide an outstanding patient experience.
Job Summary:
As an Optician, you will play an important role in helping patients select eyewear that meets both their vision needs and personal style. You will assist patients throughout the eyewear process, from frame selection to fitting and adjustments, while providing exceptional customer service. We are willing to train the right candidate, so previous optician experience is helpful but not required. This position is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in building a long term career in the optical field, with the ultimate goal of obtaining optician licensure in Washington State. We provide the training and practical experience needed to help you progress toward that goal. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and eyewear recommendations. Educate patients on lens features, coatings, and available products. Take accurate measurements for glasses and ensure proper fitting and adjustments. Assist with ordering, dispensing, and troubleshooting eyewear. Verify prescriptions and communicate effectively with doctors and team members. Maintain inventory and organize optical displays. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience. Assist patients with repairs, adjustments, and follow-up questions. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification is a plus. Previous experience in customer service, retail, healthcare, or optical preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and be trained in optical skills and products. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience with eyewear sales, insurance processing, or Crystal (EHR) is a plus.
