Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Be part of something remarkable Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking a Optician to:- Join the UW Health Eye Care Team who provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
- Assist patients with selecting the right fit, shape, style of eyewear and dispense contact lenses.
- Perform eye-glass repairs and adjustments.
- Educate patients and families on proper eye-wear care. At UW Health, you will have:

- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program Preferred Work Experience
- Computer experience Required
- Previous experience in customer service or eye care setting Required
- 1 year or more Optician experience Preferred
- 1 year or more of work experience with processing insurance claims Preferred
- Optical lab training and/or optometric technician experience Preferred
- Contact lens training or experience Preferred Licenses & Certifications
- Obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification within 18 months or three (3) testing periods from the date of hire and maintain the certification Required
