As an energetic and detail-oriented professional, you will assist in selecting, fitting, and dispensing eyewear, ensuring each patient receives personalized care and optimal visual solutions. Duties Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that meet their prescription needs and personal style preferences Measure and verify optical prescriptions using specialized equipment, ensuring accuracy for proper fit and vision correction Fit, adjust, and repair eyewear to ensure comfort, proper alignment, and durability Maintain detailed medical records and manage optical inventory with precision, including laboratory supplies and frames Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic procedures and patient care plans Educate patients on lens options, proper eyewear maintenance, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic to document patient interactions, prescriptions, and billing information Conduct vital signs assessments when necessary for comprehensive patient evaluations in clinical settings Support retail sales efforts by providing excellent customer service, managing retail math for transactions, and promoting eyewear products effectively Follow aseptic techniques during laboratory procedures to prevent contamination when handling lenses or performing adjustments Experience Prior experience working as an optician or in an optical retail environment is highly preferred Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology concepts related to vision correction, and medical terminology is essential Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to lens fabrication and repair enhances your effectiveness in this role Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records is advantageous Understanding of medical billing practices, medical coding related to eye care services, and HIPAA compliance ensures smooth administrative operations Clinic experience or exposure to senior care environments demonstrates your ability to serve diverse patient populations effectively Retail management skills including retail math calculations support sales targets and inventory control Join us as an Optician to deliver expert eye care with enthusiasm!
