Bilingual English/Spanish skills and experience edging lenses are significant advantages. We have an on-site optical lab and serve a growing number of Spanish-speaking patients, so someone with either—or both—of these skills would be a valuable addition to our team. More importantly, we are looking for someone who will be a great fit with our staff and the way we care for patients. The right person will be friendly, dependable, team-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed. We value someone who takes initiative, communicates well, pays attention to details, and genuinely enjoys helping patients and coworkers. Responsibilities Help patients select frames that fit their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style Explain lens options and make thoughtful recommendations Take accurate optical measurements Properly fit, adjust, and dispense eyewear Perform eyewear repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting Verify completed eyewear for accuracy and quality Assist with optical orders, inventory, and other daily optical responsibilities Edge and finish lenses in our on-site optical lab, if experienced Provide the friendly, personalized service our patients expect Support coworkers and contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace Qualificiations Previous optician experience is required Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, optical measurements, adjustments, and optical terminology Friendly, professional, and confident when working with patients Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail Comfortable working in a busy practice and helping without always needing to be asked Able to communicate respectfully and work well as part of a close-knit team Bilingual English/Spanish skills are strongly preferred Lens-edging or optical lab experience is strongly preferred Schedule and Work-Life Balance This is a full-time position averaging 35 hours per week, or 70 hours per two-week pay period. Our practice is open Monday through Friday with no weekends. The schedule generally includes one early morning and one evening per week, with some flexibility in how hours are arranged. We believe people do their best work when they have time for life outside of work, and our full-time schedule is designed to support that balance.
