Job Description
Optometrist Toiyabe Indian Health Clinic Bishop, CA Description Toiyabe Indian Health Clinic is seeking a full-time Optometrist to join our dedicated team and play an integral role in helping to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the native communities that we serve.
Qualifications:
1. Extensive undergraduate work and graduate work to at least earn a Doctor of Optometry Degree. 2. Two to five years of experience in a health care environment, preferably Indian Health and/or FQHC, is highly desirable. 3. Ability to develop, integrate, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures, formulating plans to enhance the Optometry Department. 4. Strong project management, analytical and operational problem-solving skills. 5. The ability at all times, to communicate effectively with patients, the public, subordinates, department heads, and employees at TIHP using tact, courtesy, discretion, confidentiality, and good judgement in handling issues in a sensitive manner. 6. Current US License and Licensed in CA by the Board of Consumer Affairs within one year of hire. 7. Must be sensitive and possess an awareness and keen appreciation of traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs of the Indian community. 8. Must have knowledge of federal and state regulations related to health services, confidentiality, privacy regulations and fraud/abuse laws. 9. CPR certified or certified within three months of hire. 10. Possess a valid driver's license and insurable by company insurance with the ability to travel as necessary. 11. American Indian preference in accordance with Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code § 472 & 473).Benefits:

Floating Birthday Holiday:

- Employees are provided an incentive for longevity at THIP and that includes a cash bonus at 5-year increments and a travel voucher for those at 20 years of service and each 5 years thereafter, depending on budget availability. Personal Leave & Sick Leave
- Paid personal leave beginning with three (3) weeks per year for first two years of employment; accrual increases incrementally thereafter.

$118,425.00- $159,508.
