In this engaging position, you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide personalized patient care to improve vision health. Your expertise will help patients of all ages achieve optimal visual function while ensuring a positive and supportive experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical skills with compassionate service in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Perform thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function. Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric ocular issues. Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or refer patients to specialists when necessary, ensuring comprehensive care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens use, and preventive measures to promote long-term ocular wellness. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and assist in sales efforts to meet patient needs. Follow strict aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent infections. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding standards to deliver top-tier care. Experience Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye and visual system. Hands-on experience with optical equipment, diagnostic instruments, EMR/EHR systems, and medical records management. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and medical coding practices for accurate billing and documentation. Excellent customer service skills combined with sales acumen to enhance patient satisfaction while promoting optical products. Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and compassionately to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
