Optometrist

Part-Time Optometrist North Coast Optometry is seeking a part-time Optometrist to join our private practice in Oceanside, California. We are looking for a clinically strong, efficient, business-minded OD to provide high-quality patient care.

Position Overview Schedule:

2 days per week from the following available days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday . Any combination of two days may be considered, with potential to expand to additional days in the future. The schedule is based on 30-minute exams with technician-assisted pretesting. Patient volume varies, but the doctor should be comfortable seeing approximately 12-15 patients per day when the schedule is full. The ideal candidate will be able to manage routine and medical eye care independently, communicate clearly with patients and staff, and understand how strong clinical recommendations support both patient outcomes and the health of a private practice. North Coast Optometry has a growing focus on ocular surface disease and dry eye treatment. The associate OD will be expected to identify appropriate dry eye candidates, educate patients, and refer internally for specialty dry eye consultation.

The ideal candidate is:

Licensed, or eligible for licensure, to practice optometry in California Comfortable with comprehensive and medical optometry Efficient with 30-minute, tech-assisted exams Strong with patient communication and treatment recommendations Comfortable with contact lenses Interested in or experienced with myopia management Able to identify and refer dry eye patients appropriately Business-minded and aligned with private-practice care Respectful and collaborative with technicians, opticians, and front-desk staff Comfortable using, or willing to learn, Eyefinity EHR New graduates are welcome to apply. Experience is appreciated, but clinical judgment, communication, efficiency, and attitude are most important. Compensation $450 per diem + daily bonus (dry eye referral bonus) $50 per dry eye referral bonus for completed internal dry eye consultation; 1-2 appropriate referrals per clinic day is realistic given the prevalence of dry eye/MGD $200 LASIK referral bonus W-2 employee position Malpractice coverage provided CE reimbursement up to $800 per year 401(k) with employer matching
